From the Greek word Koinonia, which means to share burdens, fellowship has been a part of the
church since we get the first snapshot in Acts chapter 2.
"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of
bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by
the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property
and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together
in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere
hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their
number daily those who were being saved.
Fellowship remains a big part of Parkview Christian Church. We set aside calendar events each month
for the specific purpose of fellowship. Sometimes these are simple fellowship meals, sometimes they
are "Family Fun Events" where we take a road trip to have some fun as a group, and sometimes they
what we like to call "Stop, Drop and Pray" sessions were we gather for the sole purpose of sharing
one another's burdens and taking them to the Lord in prayer. All of these times combine together
to create the special family environment you'll find here.
